Same Day Booking Appointments

Due to COVID 19 and our desire to provide a continuing COVID safe environment, especially to our more vulnerable patients, there are currently some changes our patients need to bear in mind. Most of our patients are dealt with on the same day or within two working days. Virtual, telephone and face to face appointments are all triaged. We ask that any patients with access to IT fill in our online form at their convenience, with 24/7 access to these forms. Please note that the forms are only dealt with during surgery hours and are not for emergencies.

Requests for appointments can be accessed by completing our online Get Help with any Health Problem form with IT access and by contacting our Reception team on (01332) 203787 during our opening hours for our patients without IT access. Remember that Monday and Tuesday mornings are busy in all GP surgeries and we are no exception. Please fill in any of our forms as fully as possible as these are the basis of your discussion with any clinician. If we need you to add a photograph of a problem area we will send a link via AccuRX securely and this will then be viewed by a clinician and added to your confidential patient records.

When you call, please note that we expect patients to treat all of our staff with respect, just as the staff will treat patients in the same way. Any aggressive or rude behaviour will trigger our Zero Tolerance process.

The line is open each weekday from 08:00 to 18:30.

Face to Face Appointment

Understandably the way we offer face to face appointments has changed during the pandemic. Staff wear full PPE and rooms are subject to extra cleansing processes both before and after your appointment. We will do our best to keep you safe.

All appointments are triaged by the GP, Nurse or HCA before a face to face appointment is booked and these appointments will only be offered on the basis of clinical need, which will be decided by the clinician involved. Friar Gate Surgery have extended and integrated sophisticated technologies into their daily work during the pandemic to ensure we can provide a high-quality service safely. You may be asked to provide a photograph of a visible medical issue prior to an appointment being booked. You may be referred to or have an appointment booked for you with a Community Pharmacist. Or you may be asked to come in to attend the appointment face to face. Please ensure that whilst on Friar Gate Surgery premises that you were a face covering for the safety of all. Your safety and our safety are equally important.
