Repeat Prescriptions

We, at Friar Gate Surgery, work hard to provide patients with choice and good quality service, while using new technology and NHS services for their benefit.

You can order your medication via an App, Online via the website, by telephone or by paper.

Via an App

You can do this via the NHS App, Airmid or SystmOnline, amongst others, if you would like to do this you can download the App from your Appstore.

Via Medicines Order Line

Medicines Order Line, a local NHS Service, can issue repeat medication for you over the phone. This will replace the ordering offered by your Pharmacy, however your medication will still be sent to your nominated Pharmacy, so don’t worry you can still use your friendly local Community Pharmacy that you know and trust to dispense medication for you. You will need to remember to order in enough time to get your medication.

NHS Medicines Order Line on 0115 8550 260, open from 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Friday. Be aware that busy times are generally Monday and Tuesday mornings.

We have the upcoming Jubilee Bank Holidays so please get your requests into MOL as early as possible to alleviate any additional pressures.

If you are struggling to get through to MOL please call PALs on 0800 032 3235 and they will email MOL to give you a call back as soon as they can.

The surgery do not accept medication requests over the phone.

Via the Website

You can use our website to order medication if you do not have access to SystmOnline. Click “No” when prompted on the Request a Repeat Prescription triage page and fill in the form by hand. Please make sure that you supply us with enough information to ensure that we can find the medication you are requesting, particularly when requesting asthma inhalers or Stoma replacements.

If you are unable to use any of these methods, you can still currently use paper requests. However, please be aware we are monitoring this method and may be stopping accepting medication requests via paper being dropped off at the surgery into our post box or posted in. All paper requests are quarantined for 24 hours so please do not put anything urgent in the letterbox or post urgent requests to us.
